The 2004 Tsunami devastated the homes and livelihoods of fishing communities on the coastlines of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in India. In the disaster-hit coastal village of Nallavadu, 300 families were identified as particularly vulnerable as their homes sat near the high tide line (HTL). To help them, new houses were built away from the HTL in the Nallavadu housing colony, and a 10-year Insurance policy was issued for each house.
The World Bank commissioned a series of 9 films to us for showcasing the varied kind of work that they have been doing across India.
