CLIENT: Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya (SKV), Gwalior
The Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya was founded in 1956 with the vision of preparing young girls to take on leadership roles in independent India. As part of its social-service initiative, the school set up a unit to produce and distribute sanitary napkins to underprivileged women. They subsequently assisted the women of one village to set up their own production-unit. The project was called ‘Sankalp’ meaning ‘a resolution’ to help women live with dignity.
The film was made to document the transformational journey of the girls involved in the project. And equally, to show the impact it had in changing the mindset of a complete village, while empowering its women through a humble sanitary pad!
